Our base of operations for the Austin Endurance Ranch is a very nice house in Austin's Travis Heights neighborhood. We are three blocks from Stacy Pool and a connector trail to the Town Lake Hike-and-Bike trail (great for running). We are roughly two miles from our bike shop partner, Austin Tri-Cyclist. Most points of interest in downtown Austin are one to three miles from our doorstep.
We have a spacious kitchen with an eight-burner gas stove, allowing our staff of pro triathletes to whip up delicious meals for a large crowd of people.
We have two living rooms for relaxing in the evenings. The downstairs living room features a flat-screen TV and a wet bar.
We have a laundry room with a washer & dryer plus plenty of storage space for bicycles.
The house has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, letting us accomodate up too eight campers at a time while also housing our staff of pro triathletes.
Some of our theme rooms for 2010 included:
The Keep Austin Weird room, furnished with posters that highlight cool and unique places and events in Austin. This is the Master Bedroom in the house and it features a queen-sized bed plus a single bed for overflow. The bathroom has an amazing shower with multiple jets and a handheld sprayer.
The Phil Liggett Room is decorated with posters featuring quotations from our favorite cycling commentator -- nearly fifty of them! This room also has a queen-size bed.
The Chuck Norris Room was a favorite of our 2010 campers. It features a king-size bed and a variety of Chuck Norris Facts. We even have a few pictures from 2010:
Our two other bedrooms each have two beds -- one room is a double/double and one is a queen/single. The beds aren't made in the picture below, but you get the idea!
